Meet Moose!??

Moose was found as a stray in San Diego and was taken in by a kind family who has been fostering him since early January. They originally had seen him on the streets and wanted to take him in at that time, but the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility picked him up before they could do so themselves. When Moose was first rescued, he was covered in cactus and extremely dirty. His foster family decided to pull him from CVACF and foster him, because they felt they would be able to find a loving home for him much quicker than the shelter. Consequently, they reached out to ARWOB for assistance. As much as they would love to keep Moose, they have a 2-dog limit where they live and are unable to keep him themselves. They have agreed to continue to foster Moose until ARWOB can find him a permanent family.

Moose is house trained and he is using the doggie door when he needs to go out. He is crate trained and seems very content to be inside his crate. He is somewhat leash trained, but may need a little help on that. He is well behaved and he comes when he is called. Moose currently lives with two other dogs in his foster home and gets along well with them. When he sees new dogs he will bark, but that is because he wants to play and be social. He has not been tested with cats, so we do not know how he might be with them.

His foster mom has told us that Moose is extremely loving and sweet! He does have some separation anxiety, but does not ruin things if left alone. He barks at other dogs, but plays well and just loves the dog park! He likes to play with his two foster brothers regularly, is energetic, and loves long walks.

As is the case with all of our rescues, we are looking for a foster family who is willing to give this handsome man a loving place to stay while we find him a permanent home. We also over foster-to-adopt programs for those who are interested in adopting and would like to get to know Moose on a personal level. If you are interested in fostering and/or adopting Moose, please fill out an online application right away. Don’t wait!
